Lake Erie crushers
As Digital Content Manager for the Lake Erie Crushers I am the sole full time staff member focused on social media marketing. Overhauling the Crushers social media presence is an ongoing process. Since joining the Crushers I have redone the brand style, formatting efforts and community management practices.
Pittsburgh Penguins Internship
During my time at The Penguins I had the opportunity to spend our home games in the arena capturing the reaction of fans throughout the game. This was always an amazing experience and allowed me to produce content that was posted across all The Penguins' social media accounts.
As an intern with the Penguins part of my duties was to assist with the creation of graphics to be used on game days and to celebrate player milestones. I began by selecting photographs and cutting out players. Later in my internship I was given the opportunity to learn the full process of creating a graphic by cutting out a player, treating the photo to align with the Penguins distinctive style and modifing the milestone graphic to match the player's information.
Slippery Rock University
At the conclusion of my social media course, a group of my fellow students and I created a comprehensive social media strategy for a fictitious Pittsburgh-based company. This strategy demonstrated our knowledge of how the principals and best practices taught in the class can be used to guide the social marketing efforts of a brand.
During my time as the Public relations Chairman of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, I got to implement what I had learned in my social media course. I began a content calendar and collected important dates to aid in creating a social media strategy for the organization. The biggest campaign I ran was to promote our signature philanthropy event, Pancakes for Patriots. I developed a range of social and print assets from scratch to promote the event around campus.
